Masters in Genomic Medicine
Our partners at Health Education England (HEE) have recently confirmed the nine Universities across the UK that will deliver the new Masters in Genomic Medicine.
The Masters, starting in September 2015, is designed for NHS staff, especially those working in Genomic Medicine Centres on the 100,000 Genomes Project.
The Masters in Genomic Medicine marks the beginning of creating a lasting legacy for patients and the NHS through the 100,000 Genomes Project. Healthcare professionals and public health workers will be learning how to apply whole genome sequencing and helping to integrate genomic medicine into routine healthcare.

Masters course
Nine higher education institutions across England will deliver the Masters in Genomic Medicine. Health Education England will fund at least 550 places on the Masters course for NHS staff over the next three years.

Genomics Education Programme
The Genomics Education Programme is a £20 million, three-year programme supported by Health Education England. The programme aims to give staff the skills, knowledge and experience needed to ensure that the NHS remains a world leader in genomics and personalised medicine. The Masters is just one part of the programme.
