Professor Amy Jayne McKnight

Implementation and Data Enhancement lead

Amy Jayne (AJ) McKnight, Professor of Molecular Epidemiology and Public Health with extenstive experience in multiomic disease meta-analyses. She co-leads the Epidemiology and Public Health Research Group within the Centre for Public Health at Queen’s University Belfast. She runs the NI rare disease research centre and with colleagues, she has helped develop powerful approaches to data analysis and data integration to identify novel biological pathways for disease. AJ co-leads government advisory groups improving the identification and treatment of rare conditions, Leads the developing NI rare disease and congenital anomaly registry, co-leads the All Ireland RAre disease Interdisciplinary research Network (RAiN), and is a member of the RD-IMAG and RD research landscape groups. Professor McKnight will be leading our Implementation and Data Enhancement community which will seek to effectively integrate whole genome sequencing into the NHS.
