Professor Diana Baralle

Genotype-Phenotype Association lead

Diana Baralle holds a personal chair at the University of Southampton, is a Consultant in Clinical Genetics, and an emeritus NIHR Research Professor in Genomic Medicine. She is the current Associate Dean Research at the Faculty of Medicine University of Southampton and President of the Clinical Genetic Society. She completed her doctorate and Action Medical Research Training Fellowship in the Department of Pathology at the University of Cambridge where she held an academic position before her current appointment in Southampton. Professor Baralle leads a group that investigates the role of RNA and splicing in genetic disease, new methods for genetic diagnostic testing, and the causes of rare disease syndromes. Professor Baralle will be leading our Genotype-Phenotype Association community which focuses on studying large-scale genotype-phenotype studies to uncover rare variants linked to traits and diseases.
