Simon joined the Panel as the parent of a son with a rare genetic mutation and brings 25 years of lived family experience to the role.
 
His background blends a strong dedication to public service with practical leadership. Simon serves as a Magistrate, Deputy Chair of the Berkshire Magistrates, and a Disability Qualified Tribunal Member, roles focussed on independent fairness and community insight. He is also a customer-focussed independent committee member at a Housing Association. Previously, he spent many years in the technology sector leading complex projects, strategy, and operations.

With awards for innovation and community contribution, Simon brings a balance of professional skill and personal understanding to the Panel, eager to help Genomics England solve complex challenges while keeping the real-world impact on families at the forefront.
