Join our speakers, Emily Richardson (AWS) and Nicole Chai (Genomics England) as they walk us through their personal stories and talk about their career path, skills gained and how they landed their jobs at AWS and Genomics England.
Emily is a Genomics Solutions Architect at AWS. She has a background in microbial genomics. Prior to working for AWS she worked for MicrobesNG, a spinout from the University of Birmingham, as the Head of Bioinformatics.
Nicole is a Bioinformatician on the R&D team at Genomics England. She has a background in medicine and after getting an MBBS at Newcastle University, she practised as a medical doctor. She then made a career transition into bioinformatics, obtaining an MSc in the field. Prior to joining Genomics England, she worked as a Bioinformatician at a biopharmaceutical company looking to identify novel compounds from genomic data to treat inflammatory disorders and cancer.
