Publishing Genomics Papers of the Future

Please note this event will be held at 14:00-15:00 (BST)

For Peer Review Week 2023, Genomics England are collaborating with Karger Publishers to help researchers prepare for peer-review and publishing their research now and looking to the future with developing technologies, policies and datasets.

In this special event, we'll hear from the Editor in Chief, Professor Hervé Perdry, and Managing Editor of the Human Heredity journal, Dr Anthony Herzig, as they provide live feedback on lightning presentations from members of the Genomics England researcher community and take questions from attendees about publishing and the future of peer review. An exciting opportunity to find out more about getting published, peer review and the future of publishing.

Lightning talks will be presented by:

  • Sasha Mitina, Hospital for Sick Children – ‘Genome-wide enhancer-associated tandem repeats are expanded in cardiomyopathy’
  • Maryam Abdollahyan, Queen Mary University London – ‘Dynamic biobanking for breast cancer research’
  • Kristina Ibanez Garikano, Queen Mary University London – ‘Genetic prevalence and population diversity of repeat expansion disorders’

This online session is open to everyone and free to attend, we hope to have representation from across the GECIP, Discovery Forum and 100,000 Genomes Project participants, as well as anyone else who would be interested in joining.

For updates including announcements and speakers please follow the GECIP team Twitter. You can watch all previous research presentations on the Genomics England YouTube channel.
