New non-executive director joins Genomics England Board
Nicola Perrin has been appointed to the Genomics England Board as a Non-Executive Director. Nicola is currently CEO at The Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC), an organisation that is dedicated to supporting medical research charities and was former Head of Policy at the Wellcome Trust.
In 2019, she was awarded an MBE for her work championing the responsible use of patient data and is known as a passionate advocator on how and why data can and should be used for care and medical research. Nicola was instrumental in shaping the International COVID-19 Data Alliance during the pandemic.
She has extensive knowledge of life sciences and the digital health landscape and experience in working within medical research organisations and bodies that are entrusted with safeguarding patient data.
I am delighted to welcome Nicola to the Genomics England Board. Her deep understanding of the complexity of data, the importance of its careful and robust management as well as the health research environment will be invaluable to us particularly at a time when we are both evolving as an organisation and intent on growing the National Genomic Research Library.
