Before you can view or work with the data, your institution will need to sign a participation agreement and email the signed version to [email protected]

Join the research community

Once you've confirmed your institution is registered and have found a GECIP domain of interest, you can apply using the button below.

Please note applications are taking longer than normal to process at this time.

GECIP guidelines

These guidelines outline the required behaviour and working practice within the data infrastructure.

What happens after you apply?

Your Research Portal account will be created. Once you set your password and your account is fully set up, you'll be able to log in and track your application.

  • The domain lead reviews your application

    up to 10 working days
  • Your institution will validate your affiliation

    timeline determined by your institution
  • You complete our online information training

    30-60 minutes
  • Access to the Research Environment granted

    2 hours after passing the online training


We strongly encourage researchers to contact us when considering fellowship or grant applications. We can provide you with a letter of support for your application. Grant applications that we have supported have nearly double the success ratio compared to industry standards.
